Safety Tips

Most people on Quick Deal Malta are honest, but scammers exist on every marketplace. Follow these tips to buy, sell and swap safely.

Meeting in person

  • Meet in a public, busy and well-lit place, during the day if possible.
  • Bring a friend, or tell someone where you are going.
  • Inspect the item carefully before paying or swapping and check that it matches the ad.

Payments

  • Prefer cash on delivery or a payment method that offers buyer and seller protection.
  • Never pay in advance for an item you have not seen, especially by bank transfer, gift cards or crypto.
  • Never share card numbers, security codes, passwords or one-time codes with anyone.

Warning signs of a scam

  • The price is much lower than normal (for example new phones, cameras or graphics cards at half price).
  • The seller says they are abroad and wants to ship the item after you pay.
  • They push you to move the conversation away from Quick Deal Malta, or to pay quickly.
  • Messages with copied text, such as "We have available…", repeated in many ads.
  • Links that ask you to "confirm payment" or log in on another website.

Agree on everything first

Agree in writing on the price, the item, the condition, the place and the time. Keep the chat messages: they help in case of a dispute.

Shipping

If you ship an item, use a trackable shipping service and keep the receipt.

Protect your privacy

Do not publish more personal information than needed. Your phone number is shown only to people who click "Show phone number".

If something goes wrong

  • Report the ad or the user to us at [email protected] with the ad link.
  • If you lost money, report it to the Malta Police.
  • We do not share your information publicly, but we cooperate with the police when there is a lawful request about fraud or other crimes.
